bloating on the left side can be from gas built in the colon and the pain could be from the bloating itself. There are several causes of bloating, dietary causes include lactose intolerance, fructose malabsorption and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In these cases a low-FODMAP diet can help. You might want to check other causes of bloating after eating.
