In reply to cindy. Hi Cindy. Abdominal pains in children is very common. Often it is harmless with no clearly identifiable cause. But you should take her in to see a doctor as it could be something serious. You do not mention vomiting, diarrhea or other symptoms of viral diarrhea so this may not necessarily be the cause. Let a doctor examine her and come to a diagnosis.

In reply to Donna. Donna, pain below the right ribs could speak for a liver or gallbladder disorder. If symptoms does not lessen in a day or two, yes, I recommend her to visit her doctor.

My daughter is having pain in her right side just under her ribs. Sh has runa lw grade fever adn has ot hada bowel movement in 3 days. Today she has a small amoung of yellowish fluid when she tries tohave a bowel movement. She is 31 years old. Can you advise if she shoud seek medical attention?
