In reply to <a href="https://healthhype.com/fluid-in-the-lungs-causes-and-treatment.html#comment-95621">HealthHype</a>.

Awe bless. TBH I'm not sure what the heck it was. Was told that my kidneys were "in trouble" due to dehydration, and lungs were playing up. ER staff did their due diligence and sent me on my way. That being said, I have been referred to an Internist. She sent me for a barrage of blood work. Everything and then some was checked off on the requisition. She said it would take at least 2 weeks to get results, as they are not common blood tests. Two days later, I got a call that she wanted to discuss my results? Oh boy, I'm on the other side of the country for summer holidays, and not feeling great at all. My tongue is sore, swelled and at times a taste bud is inflamed (bright red). LOW energy and can not for the life of me, quench my thirst. Feel very dehyrdrated again. ANYWAY... thank you @HealthHype. xo

You're welcome chickencoup. Hope you're feeling better now. It does take some time to recover even with the IV fluids and so on. Always follow up with your doctor thereafter to ensure that the infection has resolved (if it was an infection) and to identify any other underlying conditions that you may not have been aware of.

Thank you. Going through some testing now. Went into emergency as I was lethargic, stopped eating and was hard to breath. My kidneys were in crisis due to dehydration and was put on inhalation therapy and nebulizers, as well as slammed with IV fluids. It's helped, but am still suffering, just not as bad. I appreciate you replying to me. xo

Hi Chickencoup. If you have not yet seen a doctor, then please do so as soon as possible. Many of the symptoms you are describing can be attributed to acute respiratory infections. However, there is also the possibility of more serious and long term respiratory and even cardiac (heart) disorders causing similar symptoms. There is no way to know for sure without a clinical examination and possibly further diagnostic tests. Your doctor will advise you accordingly.

I've been suffering for just short of 1 month with a cough. Mostly dry (very little brought up) but wheezy. My tongue is very sore and I've lost "taste" in it. I feel very lethargic and my oxygen sats vary from 88%-93%. Blood pressure also varies. 88/64 - 104/64. This morning I woke myself up as the noise from my chest and throat sounded like a cat purring REALLY LOUD. It felt like their was an incredibly large amount of liquid swishing from my chest to my throat (if that makes sense). I have not lost weight, but feel very bloated. SOS

Hi Susheel. The fluid in the lungs is not uncommon with kidne failure. Hopefully your Dad is having the required dialysis treatment at regular intervals as advised by his doctor. Also if there was dietary recommendations for his condition, ensure that he makes those changes in what he is eating. It can play a major role in his condition. You will need to discuss the treatment options for the fluid in his lungs with his doctor. It may have to be drained and medication may also be prescribed. His doctor will be able to advise you further.
