This emerged from my 2 year old sons back immediately after I rubbed OTC anti fungal ointment on him. For almost 2 years now, we have been having issues with black specks, fuzz-balls and hairs that aren’t identifiable showing up on skin. This is the weirdest thing yet though! I have done so much research and been to many different doctors with no results. Thanks for any help in advance!

In reply to Orange Guzzi. Hi Orange. Thank you for sharing your experience. Nevertheless we would still advise that you consult with a medical doctor and undergo the necessary tests. If there is an intestinal worm infestation then laboratory tests will confirm it. Even if the worms are not in the stool sample, there will be tiny eggs that can be detected. Based on the results your doctor will prescribe the appropriate medication.

I have been sick for years. Bounced from doctor to doctor. Spent $4,000 on Friday with a doctor that said I have mercury poisoning. This morning I pooped in a plastic bowl, added hot water and stirred gently, drained the water and examined the heavy particles. I am full of worms. Unbelievable number of worms from 2 inches down to 1/8 inch I feel better already. Screw the doctor. I am going to the pet store and getting some worm medicine.

In reply to Ikunat. Hi Ikunat. While an infection could be a possibility, you should also consider a possible autoimmune disease. Sometimes an infection (could have been acquired during your travels) serves as a trigger for certain autoimmune conditions. The only way to know for sure is to consult with a doctor and have him/her conduct the relevant tests. Speak to your family doctor. It may also be a good idea to follow up with an internist.

I am starting to consider I might have a parasitic infection. I have been sick for 3 years. It started out with migraines, then joint aches, then vertigo, then I developed neuropathy in my legs and vitamin b12 problems. Then I randomly develop severe food allergies and started having anaphylactic reactions. Then I developed asthma. Now I am loosing an alarming amount of weight. I am down to 113 and I’m 5’7. Right before I started getting sick 3 years ago I was traveling all over South East Asia. I went to Thailand, Bali, Malaysia and a couple other countries. I do not think my stool is normal now that I started to actually consider this.

I have noticed what looks like cigarette butts in my stool. They are not attatched to the stool. What could this be?

In reply to Kaitlyn Burkett. Hi Kaitlyn. It can be difficult to self-diagnose and it is always advisable to speak to your doctor. A stool sample will have to be sent to a laboratory for further examination. Even if the worms itself are not visible in the stool sample, the appropriate tests will be able to detect the worm eggs. This could be worms but it may also be undigested or partially digested rice. You may have some other gastrointestinal problem that is affecting digestion. Your doctor will advise your accordingly.

Hello,
I recently discovered a lot of rice shaped things in my feces when using the bathroom. I can’t tell if they are brown rice that wasn’t digested properly (I had eaten a lot recently, but not in the last few days), or the cucumber tapeworm eggs. Dipylidium caninum. I’ve looked at pictures and they look similar to what I found. However, they don’t move. Like when my dog had worms and they would come out with her feces, they would be slightly moving. These don’t move at all, and there would be a lot of them.

I have an elevated eosinophils re: bloodwork………has anyone else had bloodwork done? Doctors unfortunately only seem to understand numbers…….I will be seeing a new Dr. today and hope he finds some answer. I am tired of medical professional (so called) basically thinking we lie about what’s happening to us…..then they decide we need some anxiety med….when they themselves are the cause of the anxiety! Dang that gets me fired up!
