Hi Jen. That is an unusual description of a symptom and it could be related to the bladder which is located in this region. However, it is difficult to say for sure. You may want to mention it to your doctor. Maybe a simple urine dipstick test can be performed to see if there is any infection, a common bladder problems. This may be nothing to worry about but rather get a medical opinion in person.

It is possible that this is arising from prostate problems (assuming that you are male and given the age you mention). It is common for the prostate to become enlarged at this stage in life and increases the chances of urinary tract infections, prostate infections and so on.
