Hi Deb

A lot depends on the cause and from what you indicate, it is most likely a bacterial infection. You need to complete the course of antibiotics and even after that, it can take a week or more before the pain settles. So  yes, your doctor is correct - it can take 7 to 10 days but if it is not getting better (even slightly) a week after finishing antibiotics then you need to go back to your doctor.]]></description>
