Hi William. It sounds like gastroenteritis and should have resolved by now. These types of infections are common and what most of us refer to as the stomach flu. It tends to last 2 to 3 days and abdominal pain and headaches are common symptoms with the loose stool. If the problem is still persisting at this point then you need to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Hi Xavier. Hopefully your symptoms have resolved by now. Liquid stools, especially if very frequent, is usually classified as diarrhea and in most acute cases this is due to an infection or food poisoning. The symptoms can persist for a few days. You may not always have other symptoms that would be typical of a 'stomach bug' like abdominal cramping, feeling weak and tired or a fever. Diarrhea can sometimes be the only presenting symptoms. With acute cases this should resolve within a few days. However, if it is persisting, very severe or bloody then you should be seeing a doctor immediately.

Hi. So for the past couple of days, maybe even 3, my stool has been liquid basically. It's not really painful when it comes out but my stomach has been hurting along with my head throbbing because of it. I have lost my appetite and when I try to eat or drink water to keep myself hydrated I feel like I am losing all of my energy and I become very sluggish.

Hi there, im experiencing similar issues to Ricky. I have IBS and was deadling with random bouts of diarrhea. I visited a Gastroenterologist and put me on a strict low FODMAP diet with told me to take Psylium. Currently taking 4 x 5grams of pyslium/day. Its been about a week and I have been feeling better, nausea has gone/ going less frequently, but i have noticed now im going to the toilet same time each morning but never empty my bowels in one go. I go once "normal", then another 2 times which are semi formed (and there is urgency) and I pass gas at the same time. Should i be taking my psyllium to empty in one movement? I feel like im out of options here.
Thank you

Hi Agnes.Thank you for the feedback. It is puzzling to say the least as veganism has a distinct meaning. Vegan means abstinence from all meat and meat products. This includes abstaining from chicken, fish, milk and eggs. What you are describing is known as pollo-vegetarianism. But do not take our word for it. There are enough resources on the internet that explains these concepts.

First of all, my diabetic dietican is the one who said Chicken and Fish is allowed as part of a Vegan diet. NOT Pork, Beef, Deer, Turkey and processed meats. So yeah, I am Vegan!

Hi Agnes. You say you are a vegan but you eat chicken and fish. Vegans do not eat animal products, be it meat or even dairy products and eggs. Whether your diet is related to your stools is difficult to say but you may want to read more on green bowel movements in this article https://www.healthhype.com/green-bowel-movement-what-are-the-causes.html. There are many possible causes ranging from the foods you eat, to medication you are taking, digestive diseases and some bowel disorders. You most likely have to follow up with a doctor and further tests may need to be conducted.

Hi I have been having dark green to semi dark green loose stools for over a week now. Anywhere from 5-7 movements per day. I am a vegan and have been for 6 mths now. I am highly allergic to ALL PORK PRODUCTS, so I only eat chicken, fish for my meat and fruits and veggies. Nothing new to my diet! Should I worry?

Hi RIcky. If there are no other symptoms and you do not have diarrhea that lasts for more than 2 to 3 days then it may not be any reason to worry just yet. Monitor it closely and if any new symptoms start or if the existing symptoms worsen then seek immediate medical attention. If you are concerned then you should still see your doctor right now.
