Now this isn’t just gums. It feels like it’s all the roots to my teeth. Very sensitive to talking loud, bending overand talking, and I cannot bite into or chew anything. I have a bridge that a root canal’s plug came out, but this pain is all over the upper front teeth roots. I just moved to Melborne Beach FL. I am disabled, I have good medical insurance but no dental and can’t pay up front but have a good enough income to make good monthly payments. I do need alot of dental work. I have an upper and lower partial, but they can’t be used….I need a good dentist that will allow payments….I know unheard of…thanks in advance for your advice…Patti

Hi Karen

You need to see a dentist first and possibly even consult with an ENT specialist (otolaryngologist). Don’t leave it because it could be gingivitis that can progress to ANUG or periodontitis which can cause severe damage to the gum and bone and possibly lose teeth. This gum pain and swelling may also be related to certain nutritional deficiencies or other diseases that are not directly related to your mouth.
