Hello, my phrenic nerve was damaged during by-pass surgery in may 2013. The last "sniff" test showed the diaphragm on the left side was now working at 20%. But I still have significant shortness of breath when doing even minimal exercise.Pulmonary doc doesnt think it is solely to blame on the diaphragm but so far has no answer. I am about to seek another Dr. Heart cath showed no blockages and heart muscle was strong.

In reply to <a href="https://healthhype.com/paralysis-of-the-diaphragm-breathing-muscle-problem.html#comment-91482">Maxson Parker</a>.

Hi Maxson. It is important to identify the reason for this paralysis if it indeed it is present. Removing it is not usually an option. The pain that you are feeling could be due to another condition like a hiatal hernia. If your diaphragm paralysis has been confirmed by a medical practitioner then you would also be experiencing other symptoms. It is advisable that you speak to your doctor and discuss all the possible options for your condition.
