Hi, my name is Jason. I'm a 46 yr old male and was diagnosed with a 3 mm size pinealoma and lesions in June of 2012. Before being diagnosed I weighed in at 188 lbs, 72", and was seeing my personal physician for a list of symptoms. Including severe headaches, balance issues, vision problems, nausea and vomiting. After going to a chiropracter and some physical therapy, plus getting my first pair of glasses, bifocals. I updated my Dr. on my persistant symptoms. That's when I was sent for testing. Alongside my symptoms the sleep disorder started in November of 2012. Wow what a doozy. I have never stayed up 3 days (72 hrs) (ever) at a time and not yawn once. My cycle was 72 hrs up and 4-6 hours of sleep. That went on for over a year. Now my cycle is slightly better. I stay up 48 hrs on 6 hrs sleep. That's also without yawning, even once. Enduring the headaches more often than not. After a mri, with contrast, a ct scan, ecg, and a mra. I was told by the surgeon that fluid flow was normal and at 3mm the tumor was not causing my symptoms. Also, the tumor could not be extracted at its size and would not be until it reached 22mm in size. I can understand living with the tumor for the next 19mm. What I don't understand is how I can check off the symptoms before and after the diagnosis but my tumor is not the cause of them. "Isn't it plausible that I can be susceptible to the symptoms even tho the tumor affects little aside from the gland itself.? "" If my tumor is not causing the symptoms, then what could be over looked after a mri, ct, ecg, mra, and a slew of other tests involving balance, elec and or sonic nerve response, eti, tests.??."" I am at a loss by the position that all my Dr's have taken since the surgeons report. "I feel as if my Dr's have decided that I am making this up." "I didn't even look up the symptoms of a pinealoma until after the surgeon report. "" I was listing most of the same symptoms without ever seeing the list of symptoms for a pinealoma."" But it has nothing to do with my tumor.. Really? "" I went to pain management last week. The Dr looked at me (literally) in a condescending way and told me he couldn't help me because my "mass" Isn't causing my pain and I had already attempted botox treatment." Excuse me, I must apologize for sounding/being so obnoxious. I feel like I've run into a brick wall here. The "headache clinic" is next on my radar as I see no relief. Ohh and I have some new symptoms to add to the list. I have completely lost my hunger pains. Gone since my sleep pattern altered. I am down to 148 lbs remembering to eat only when I take my pain pills. I caught myself going up to 3 days without eating because I now suffer from memory issues. I also get a numbness feeling across my mid to upper torso, head, and arms/hands. Not a feeling caused by blood loss as in a leg being asleep. But only the pin prick feeling as if it was asleep. The pain is also worse. Now the vomiting accompanies the "headaches" before or after taking my pain pills. It has lasted 4 to 6 hrs on avg. That's the vomiting. The headaches last for days without subsiding. 3 days was avg now its back to 48 hrs. Once or more a wk was avg. This past yr it's once a wk and or twice in 10 days. The morphine doesn't help anymore when pain is at its height. It's as if I never took it.
Thank you for letting me bend your visual cortex. Any and all advice would be helpful. Thank you very much for your time.
