Hi Juliet. A soft lump in this area is possibly an enlarged lymph node. Of course, there are other possible causes. Lymph nodes can become enlarged for many possible reasons and there is no way of saying for sure through this platform. Your doctor will have to examine it further and verify if it is an enlarged lymph node or not and possibly run other tests. The tingling, numbness and headaches could be associated with a host of conditions, like a pinched spinal nerve. It may be unrelated to the swelling. However, your doctor will be able to advise you further.

I have a small sore lump/swelling, on my left collarbone-between my shoulder and neck. I've had shoulder, elbow and joint pain in the last 5 months, along with tingling/numbness feelings in my hand/fingers from time to time...and also Headaches.
Been extremely tired, no energy at all!
What could it possibly be?

Hi Elizabeth. We do not comment on diagnostic reports, treatments and so on because this is not a medical consultation of any sort. You need to discuss these specific matters with your doctor. The fact that the pain and swelling persists does require further attention. If you are not satisfied with your current doctor then you should seek a second opinion. Hopefully you are seeing an orthopedist (also known as orthopedic specialist) who may be able to advise you further.

Hi Jim. The neck swelling you noticed may or may not be related to the bone spurs. It could very well be a swollen lymph node as there are many nodes in this area. This could be related to an infection or some other condition. You need to have this swelling assessed by a medical professional. Further diagnostic tests may need to be conducted before a final diagnosis can be reached.

In reply to <a href="https://healthhype.com/swollen-clavicle-collarbone.html#comment-92488">Kim</a>.

Hi Kim. As mentioned it does sound like its related to the musculoskeletal (muscles, joints and bones) system. This type of strain of the chest is more often seen with prolonged rapid breathing, vomiting, poor posture and carrying heavy objects for long periods. With regards to the latter, the force on the arms is transmitted to the chest. Actually any strenuous physical activity involving the arms could cause this as the pecs play a role in stabilizing and moving the arms. However, there could be various other causes. You may want to consider consulting with an orthopedic specialist at this point.

Thank you so much for the reply. I should have made myself more clear. When I stated it was difficult to breathe, I meant because of the pain, not because it was actually difficult to breathe. Thanks!!

Hi Kim. Really difficult to say on an online platform. By your account it does seem to be a muscle spasm problem but it may be a good idea to get a second opinion. Some of these symptoms like difficulty breathing could be related to serious disorders that may involve your airways, lungs or heart. The only way to know for sure is with further investigations. Since the exact cause has not been isolated as yet, you may want to ask your doctor for a referral to a relevant specialist who can then conduct further tests.
