I have broken 3 of my ribs before on my right side so I'm pretty sure that I did again, on the left this time. I have Tourette syndrome and can't find much on the subject online but embarrassingly, it's the truth, I have tics (involuntary jerks that I make on various parts of my body in response to the random, nearly constant, bursts of anxiety I feel that can only be relieved by carrying out a certain movement until the movement feels "just right ") It is very difficult to explain if you are hearing of this for the first time, though it is a very real and serious issue.

This time it's very hard to breathe and at first it was a breath taking and frightening pain that didn't allow relief until I took Advil and lied down for an hour. Surprisingly, after only an hour or so and Advil, the pain was again tolerable. Now the pain is somewhat tolerable, now that it's been about a week, but I'm still having a hard time taking full breaths because when I breathe there is pain, but mostly the pressure I feel worries me that I will pierce a lung or organ, etc.

I'm going into the ER today to get an X-ray but what do I do for the pain pressure management and how can I ensure that I do not pierce anything internally? There is no position I can get into that will provide even temporary relief. I'm so scared that at any second my ribs are going to snap and I'm going to faint with a collapsed lung. Please someone provide me with some stress relieving information-if there is any!!?
