A “black eye” will usually resolve on its own and may take some time, depending on the nature of the injury. It is unlikely that it is scarred unless the skin texture feels significantly different from the normal skin or if it was an open wound. Be careful about using topical applications on this skin as it is thing and is easily damaged by chemicals and could even affect the eye. See a doctor and verify that it is just a bruise.

The area under my left eye is darkened after an injury,a sort of contusion,which took at least ten to twelve days.it may be due to scar formation at the site of injury.Is there any remedy for lighting of that particular area?

In reply to svr828. svr828, a dermatologist should be able to give you a diagnosis. If there are any lumps under the skin, it could be stapylococcal infection in the form of boils or more complicated hidradenitis suppurativa.

I get frequent outbreaks on my forearms of that appear similar to senile purpura. Sometimes they just fade away but many times they open and scab over causing scarring. I almost always have at least one of these on one or the other arm all the time. I am 55 year old female.Any idea what this might be? caused from.

I have Eczema.

I can’t find anything that’ll help clear it up.. at all. I’ve been prescribed various skin creams and none of them seem to work. Does anyone have any suggestions for at home treatments or anything at all? EDIT (Jan Modric): we don’t publish e-mails.

I am pregnant and since conception have had a non itchy rash on my arms and legs. It has been present the entire pregnancy. The dermatologist and doctors don’t know for sure what it is. Has anyone experienced this?
